In my experience people are remodeling inorder to get their houses ready to sell. A remodeled house is a great selling point compared to a fixer upper foreclosed home.

I think it's plain fraud. That's why we should hire or get a reliable, honest real agent. I agree with Laura, we all gonna pay for that scams.

I would consider it fraud if a legitimate home buyer wanted to make a fair offer on the home and the real estate agent didn't present that offer to the bank because he/she stood to make a kickback from the "investor" who wants to buy the house far below market value just to resell it quickly and make a huge profit. The legitimate home buyer gets screwed out of a home and the lying agents and quick scam "investors" make out sweet. All part of what's ailing the entire country right now.

Let's hope that the home seller doesn't get a huge bill from the IRS. The amount of the shortfall could be considered income. These crooks think that the bank is the only party being scammed. We all pay. Higher interest rates, and higher qualifying standards.

Fraud???? How is this fraud after what the banks are putting people through with these short sales? I don't call this fraud at all. I call it a "wise investment". I honestly don't see anything illegal about it unless it was done maliciously in some sort of way.
